Maot Chittim in ISRAEL for Passover 2023
Inflation on Passover!
Passover is so much more than a holiday, in essence, it is a symbol of our Jewish identity! Regardless of one's level of observance, Passover has always remained an apparent part of who we are as a nation, and where we came from! Throughout history, we have fought as Jews for our freedom and our rights, and through it all, we have remained united and resilient. Today, the nation of Israel continues to practice such behaviors in our support of Israel! Therefore, it is safe to say that this Passover; Supporting the needy in Israel is the finest way to emulate our freedom from Mitzrayim! As Inflation continues to grow it leaves over 2 million people in Israel to succumb to poverty, among them are orphans, needy families with children, Holocaust survivors, IDF families, and more! The numbers are growing by the day! Israel IS the heart of our Jewish freedom, and within it, ALL our brethren should be able to celebrate wholeheartedly!
"כל דכפין ייתי ויכול, כל דצריך ייתי ויפסח"
Everything I would and could, everything I needed vayipsach (would pass)
During this auspicious time, it is critical that ALL Jews from all walks of life commemorate Yetziyat Mitzrayim as they join in a festive seder meal.
The poverty situation in Israel is growing by the day, and hunger is hitting millions! The thought of a Passover Seder seems like an infeasible stressor for needy families in Israel.
Fortunately, there is something YOU can do: By sending Food Cards this Passover for Maot Chitim YOU are ensuring that the needy in Israel CAN also join in the celebration!
We urge you Am Yisrael, to unite and help needy families and orphans in Israel by donating Food Cards for Maot Chitim so that they can purchase necessary food items for the
Passover holiday!
I wish to help my brethren in Israel with pre-paid Food Cards for the holiday of PESACH "Mao't Chitim" for:
Victims of terror,
Families of IDF soldiers,
Orphans and needy families,
by clicking HERE and donating online.
or send a check by regular mail to:
Global Jewish Assistance (JAR)
1414 Carroll Street Brooklyn. NY 11213
Each and every month throughout the year, the Jewish Assistance & Relief provides close to 2,000 Food Cards for needy Israeli families with a minimum value of $96 to as much as $600, and for the Holidays, we supply an additional 5,000-10,000 families with assistance of at least $96 to help with the added Holiday expenses.
Recipients are chosen by local Ministry of Welfare offices based on specified criteria . Many families do work, but are still struggling to make ends meet. Some of them can't keep jobs because of constant care of their seriously sick or disable family members . Lots of our recipients have economic hardships caused by sickness or disability , by the war on terror, death, etc.
Families receive pre-paid food debit cards accepted throughout Israel at any of the 400 Branches of Supersol, Blue Square National Supermarket, Machsanei HaShuk, Victory, and Yeinot Beitan chain stores, where they shop with dignity, and are able to buy foods of their choice.
Our Food Cards are pre programmed so that families can only purchase basic food and household products, and exclude any purchase of cigarettes, alcohol, clothing, cosmetics, electronics, or gourmet foods.
Food Cards are issued for six months and sometimes extended for another six months if there are extenuating circumstances, giving families time to adapt to their new economic situation and to learn how to live within their means.
Recipient families are overseen by their local welfare officers with additional oversight by the Jewish Assistance Fund, the Israeli arm of JAR.
Cards are issued throughout the year, including during war and holidays.
Recipients come from all walks of life and from all over Israel with absolutely no discrimination, and include: orphans, single parent families, holocaust survivors, the elderly, soldiers of the IDF, and special needs children, etc.
Food Cards are programmed with different amounts based on donor specifications and recipient needs.
Our administrative budget in Israel is covered by the rebates we receive from the national retailers so that 100% of your donation goes directly to feed needy families. There is NO warehouse and logistical fees spent to cover packaging and distribution costs as families receive their cards in the mail and then go shop like all other citizens
In the merit of your support for Israel, May you and All of Am Yisroel have a happy and meaningful Passover filled with joy, blessings, and unity!
A Happy and Kosher Passover!
