FAQ's
Q: When I process a donation how do you know which project I am donating for?
A: You may find several choices of Donation pages on the left side of the page, or if you are responding to a particular appeal, you will have been directed to a specific page. Otherwise, when submitting the donation on the general donation page, there will be a section called “Designate your donation for:” You will be able to choose the project you wish to donate for.
Q: I wish to contribute on a monthly basis. How do I do that?
A: When you go to “Make a Donation” link, and you start to fill out your donation information, there will be a section to set up periodic donations. If you are having trouble with this section call us at 718-774-6497 and we will be able to assist you over the phone.
Q: Can I make a contribution in Honor or in Memory of someone?
A: Yes, once processing your donation online, select an option “This donation is in Honor of/in Memory Of”. There will be a space to write the person’s name and also an address to which you want the acknowledgement to be sent.
Q: How can I receive periodic updates about your projects?
A: Send an email to info@globaljewish.org with subject “I wish to receive periodic updates”. You will automatically be entered into our email newsletter database.
Q: Is GJARN funded by the UJA and/or Jewish Federations?
A: The UJA and the Federations primarily funds the JDC and the Jewish Agency for their overseas work, and as such, we do not receive funding from them, but we have good working relationships with them.
Q: What differentiates GJARN from other charities providing assistance in Israel?
A: Our top priority is preserving the dignity of the recipients and as such, we feel that the FOOD CARD is a far better approach than soup kitchens, large public food distributions, or even the delivery of food boxes to people's homes.
